I went into Branches a Service of Austin Oaks for intensive out patient care. The point in which I entered in the program to when I left were night and day, between the staff, the program and resources I was able to get stabilized so I could return to a more productive life. When it came to the staff Ms.Angelina was a constant energy I needed, seeing her every morning when I checked in, and having conversations with her while in break made the environment so comfortable! Before Austin Oaks I was on the path to destruction and chaos. I was so lost, alone, afraid, and ready to end my life. After doing PHP/IOP in the Women’s Group, I have my life back. I am excited to be alive, have passions, and experience life. In this group I found not only myself again, but also community. I was in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) at this location. The staff at Branches downtown are the best: Angelina (admissions) and Brent (RN) are really great and accommodating. My therapists Tarai (Process group + psychoeducation) and Sarah (Expressive therapy) are really amazing at what they do. I think one of the greatest strengths of this program is how they accomodate the topics discussed based on the groups collective needs rather than sticking to a general "one size fits all" schedule of topics.
