I could see a class action lawsuit against this paper in the future. They don’t let you cancel, if you email they don’t respond and if you call they just hang up on you. There is no way to unsubscribe, what an awful unethical way to run a business. Charging someone’s card without their consent is literal theft, it boggles my mind that this company hasn’t been sued yet.
TL;DR Signed up for subscription. No online option to cancel. Called in, got hung up on twice refusing to cancel my digital subscription. A bit more details: I recently signed up for a digital subscription with the Austin American-Statesman, but quickly decided I did not want it to renew in the future. Poor customer service for online services. I was charged $98 for a service I don't remember signing up for and the customer service agents refused to help me stoo that payment. The "supervisor" I spoke to interrupted me and became aggressive when I asked where their call center was located. Please be careful signing up for trials. This should be illegal.
