This is not a good place to send your loved ones. It's not a good place to heal. A small fraction of the staff actually treats you as if you are human, the rest have sharp tongues and no patience. They aren't kind nor are they empathetic. These people are struggling enough, the last thing they need is to be treated like garbage by the techs, front desk people, the Doctors and even some of the nurses. They treat their patients like animals, like a number…. I came out worse then what I was going in….. RN TONY who I came across on the MAGNOLIA UNIT WAS THE WORST!!!! Talking about patients and mocking them as if he was above us…. Literally was laughing and talking about me in Spanish like i didn’t understand…..Medicating patients with wrong meds and doses, absolutely filthy facility roaches , ants and nats…. What a terrifying and immoral medical facility. They are understaffed with low-quality health professionals including the patient advocate, therapists, nurses, psychiatrists, medical doctors and front desk staff. We were completely misled in terms of what to expect- told at the outset we would get information on our family member's care, they would review her medical and psychiatric history and eventually collaborate with family on a plan to take her home. When I was at Vista Del Mar as a minor in 2012, my eating disorder went completely unchecked, my suicidal roommate was allowed to continue self harming, and another 14 year old girl was sexually assaulted by an older male patient. In 2015, my friend was able to hang herself while on “suicide watch”. This place shouldn’t even be able to be open anymore.

Where to begin?? This hospital promotes on it's website how safety is a priority when it comes to the employees, public and patients! WRONG, at this moment while im making this post they're working on discharging my COVID 19 positive daughter, knowingly that she contracted COVID 19 under their care. The family has had several calls from the hospital wanting a family member to pick her up. This place is worse than a juvenile detention center! It feels like you are bringing your child to jail. The staff are the most insincere, uncaring, condescending and rude people that you will ever meet in a supposed "healthcare" setting. They do not follow their own rules. My daughter was assaulted and had her clothes stolen while there, and the staff did nothing about it. Run from this hell hole. Laws mean nothing ,patiences rights mean nothing and medical care is something they do when it suits them. If you have a problem this place will only make it worse.
