About this business

Over the last 21 years, this animal-rehabilitation center has treated and released more than 7,000 birds of prey, including eagles, hawks, vultures and owls. To learn more about these creatures, come by for a visit to Audubon Center for Birds of Prey. Twenty-two species are on view, including the famous bald eagles. The animals here cannot be returned to the wild, mostly because of health reasons. The center also hosts an adopt-a-wild-bird program.

This attraction is a rehabilitation center for a wide variety of injured birds of prey. The cages are well-maintained and spacious for the birds, and the grounds are mostly shaded with paved walkways. They give guests an information booklet to read about each bird as you see them along the walk. I wish there had been a staff person with the birds to answer questions. Maybe there is on other days if a group is scheduled to come. The film is excellent and describes how birds are given medical treatment and rehabilitation. It's... read more

I haven't been there in 30 years. That was a favorite place to visit when my children were young. I was amazed all the wonderful changes they have done for these beautiful birds. So happy to see Merlin ( the 1 eyed owl ) is still there sitting on his perch.

It was a warm but nice day. We arrived about 10:30. Nice to learn more about the birds we see in our neighborhoods. Eagles, hawks, owls, swallowtails, and other birds of prey. The sizes of these birds is surreal. Great for educating the kiddos. Ours loved it and wanted to go back. Eagles were very vocal that day.

We had a wonderful visit. 3 adults, 7 kids (ages 13-1) and we all loved it! We brought a picnic lunch to enjoy in the gazebo on the lake that is on property as well. The kids have been talking nonstop about their favorite birds and everything that they have learned. Thank you Audubon Center for this unique opportunity.
