The staff is great, but billing is horrible. They sent my son's birth bill to the wrong insurance. I called twice to make sure they had the correct insurance. Both times I was told they would bill the right insurance. I kept getting the same bill and now have been receiving letters from a collection agency. Someone in billing finally admitted no one had ever submitted my bill to the correct insurance, and they won't put my account on hold to stop the calls and letters. It has been almost 6 months now.

St. Vincent has always had a bad reputation for being incompetent, overpriced, and staffed with 3rd rate doctors. They've misdiagnosed almost every single person I know that has been seen by them. Their ENT nearly killed me a few years ago. They told my mom her Colon Cancer was gone, then they called back a day later saying they had the patient's names mixed up. Just recently they told my fiance she just had slight inflammation in her neck after an ER visit she likely got sicker from, when in fact it was her Lingual Tonsil s... read more

My grandmother was in for an endoscopy yesterday and it was horrible. We were there from 9:50am to 5:30pm. Her surgery was supposed to happen at 11:00am or 11:30am, but she didn’t go back for it until 1:30pm. Then, after I was told that the doctor would come to talk to me after her procedure (she had two separate ones) he never came. It wasn’t until 5:00pm, and talking to four separate nurses(no one knew where she was and blatantly ignored me) someone told me she was in the bathroom and would be ready to go. When I got back ... read more

I went to pick up my father tonight from this horrendous hospital. He was outside the ER doors, in a wheelchair by himself with a broken ankle. It was chilly and extremely windy and no one came out to help get him in the car, it took me 10 minutes to get him in the car. I can't believe that a hospital would treat people like that, especially a Via Christi. I do not recommend the hospital or emergency. I called and talked to the head nurse and then left a message with the manager, we will see if they call me tomorrow.

I took my wife to the ER at about 2:30 pm on 11/16/2020 because her hands were freezing up and she was in pain because of low calcium. 4 hours later she still had not seen the doctor. Did I mention my wife was in a lot of pain? They did take some blood but they never looked at her calcium level which was the main reason she was there! They told her 10 minutes for an ICU bed. An hour later still nothing. Unbelievable lackluster care!
