Ed Pavlick of Around the Town charged me $568.00 the fix my boiler on 2/2/2013 and its still broken. He offered to come back on 2/3/2013 and finish the job at time plus materials. I already paid. I have the bill Ed Pavlick signed off on my boiler. What am I missing? Legal proceedings will insue A.S.A.P.

Ed does the best work! – Ed did a great job for us! He installed our furnace and gave us great pricing! He installed our new air conditioner at light speed and works great! He is very considerate of your situation, I was pregnant and he came as fast as he could to get our air conditioner put in so I would not have to suffer. He is very knowledgeable and efficient, great person to work with, I would highly recommend him and his company!
Honest – I was in a conundrum with a bunch of company coming over for Memorial Day. My 8 year old air conditioner was making a very loud noise while it ran. I called Around The Town and the were very professional and prompt in their service. I liked that fact that they are "flat rate" and won't have any surprises with high hourly charges if it takes longer than expected. The Best Company In Town – My air went out on the first hot day this summer. i was totally devastated. I tried several companies and EVERYBODY wants to sell you a new unit. After alot of frustration I called Around The Town in the late evening and got Ed. What a blessing he was. A Trustworthy Company You Can Rely On – Our house was toasty warm, thanks to their fast service on short notice. We had an emergency at our home and a party scheduled for later that evening. We called Around the Town and several other heating repair companies. They were able to take care of our needs that very day and at an affordable cost. We are keeping their card on our fridge for any future issues based on such helpful service.
Price Gouging at its Worst! – My pilot light on my furnace failed to light this winter, so I searched through Google and found Around the Town (I live in Chicago). They sent a technician (they charge $85 as a servicing fee) out to look at the furnace, and after doing some checking to see if my heat exchanger was cracked, decided to replace the gas valve. The technician had a replacement gas valve in his truck, but after coming back with the gas valve, told me that it would cost $375 for the part. After asking him to wait, I ... read more

This is really an unrealistic review. The total cost of the gas valve installed was 375.00 which included 1hour labor and our service charge and minor gaspipe nipples. Whats the issue? We are not allowed to pay our employees and add a mark up on the part at 30%? Go to breakfast and pay $9.00 do you think a couple of eggs and toast cost $9.00 plus tip?, oh, you probably wouln't leave atip. How ever you did recieve a correct diagnostic? Yes. Be forwarned – Owner came out, wrote an acceptable proposal, scheduled the heat and a/c install and he disappeared. Not even a call. Not even an excuse. There are a lot of good companies with solid reputation. Keep looking.

Do you not think if we was to recieve a go ahead to install a furnace and air conditioning system we wouldn't come out to install it and lose work? We never recieved a go ahead, however we are glad we didn't.
Don't waste your time! – Most unprofessional company I've "worked with" in a long time. I put that in quotes, because despite repeated attempts, they never even showed up! I put in a simple AC service request with them because the price was good and they advertised support for my model. They scheduled me for about a week out, which was reasonable.
