I have a very long history of angle fractures and torn ligaments. I saw him two years ago with a very painful injury. He told me I was being dramatic and scolded me when I couldn’t put my weight on my ankle. He was so annoyed that I was upset during this appointment. I don't think I can thank Dr. Kaz and his wonderful team enough...I suffered for over 4 years with an undiagnosed foot condition - Northwestern Orthopedics said i needed arch supports; Lincoln Foot and Ankle said i needed foot exercises and steroid injections. By the time i found Dr. Kaz my foot was in terrible shape. Dr Kaz suspected a torn planter plate, and recommended an ultrasound, by in his opinion the best radiologist in the area, Dr. Kinkaid. I was referred to IBJI by an urgent care facility after I broke my ankle in several places. They assured me when making my appointment that I should see Dr Kaz. He was straightforward, gave me reasonable expectations for my recovery and performed my extensive surgery. He also has a great humor to him which I appreciate. Horrible bedside manners.
Came in with a basically shattered foot (broken 2nd, 3rd + 4th metatarsals in MULTIPLEE places) + lis franc injury. This man put my foot back into place (yes it was a long journey, surgeries + physical therapy), I am now back at nearly 100%! I am back to rock climbing at the same/higher lever than before, biking, hiking, beach runs, everything active! Frequently interrupted me during our appointment. How does one provide a proper diagnosis using only X-ray scan without a patient's input? He said I'm okay and I insisted for a MRI. I've a long history of ankle issues(multiple surgeries) Anyway, report came in and stated I've talar dome lesion(this could potentially be an impairing disease greatly affecting my quality of life). I never got a call back from the doctor and I had to get a second opinion. This gave me the impression that the doc does not like to be proven wrong.... read more
Dr. Kaz exceeded all my expectations. I never had surgery before and did not know what to expect. He made feel comfortable and confident in my procedure. The outcome was fantastic. I am able to get back to normal without any side effects. I would highly recommend Dr. Kaz!
