I was referred to Dr. Chinnappan by a satisfied patient. He has great listening skills, wants to answer questions thoroughly, and never pushes a patient to make a decision. There was no pain after surgery and I have continued to feel great losing another 40 lbs. in 2 mos. , but, a total of 50 lbs since meeting him. Dr. Kumaran Is the best around! I had the gastric sleeve and it went perfectly. His office is the only one around that uses the Qball. After surgery to reduce or eliminate pain altogether. It's amazing! I had NO PAIN. Ask about it. Doctor Kumaran Is extremely caring and empathetic and so is his staff. Highly highly recommend HOAB with doctor Chinnapan Kumaran!
Dr Chinnapan is a wonderful surgeon. He thoroughly explained everything at my initial consult and through the entire process. I am 1 year out from my sleeve surgery and down 118 pounds. I would recommend him and his practice to anyone considering bariatric surgery
Dr Chinnappan is absolutely fabulous! I met with a few other surgeons before picking him, but he won me over immediately with his bedside manner. He truly cares about his patients and he takes the time to chat with them and make sure they are well informed about which type of surgery is best for them. We have nothing but great things to say about him. We chose to have the procedure done at Mercy in Festus, and they were wonderful. I'm 5 months out from gastric sleeve and have lost about 70 lbs.

I've struggled with my weight for years and have tried hundreds of fad diets and diet pills. I was at my heaviest weight and I would cry and try on outfit after outfit. My weight wasn't just holding me back it was holding back my family's life. I didn't want to go out I was embarrassed about my weight. I wasn't living life and I needed to live life again and Dr. Chinnappan has changed my life. The gastric sleeve surgery was the best decision I've ever made! 1 year in and I'm down 121 lbs.
