It took me a very long time to decide whether I wanted to go the route of Gastric Sleeve, but I can honestly say now that I has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. Doctor Kumaran (Chinnappan) is genuine in his approach and I appreciated his communication, feedback and overall positive nature. He has helped shaped my new life approach and can't wait to see where I go from here! I have more energy and it just feels good to feel good. Go for it!
Dr. Kumaran and his staff are WONDERFUL! When I first began my journey it was very important to have a professional doctor who also understood me and my issues along with the compassion to help me feel comfortable in the process. After I has my vertical sleeve gastrectomy I was wondering if I had made a mistake. I was miserable for the first couple of weeks. Once I made it through the liquid diet part and could have real food, I decided that I had made the correct decision. The doctor is so nice and his staff is so helpful and friendly, how could I go wrong. I have lost 106 lbs. and have about 40 more to go. I would recommend my doctor to anyone wanting more information about the surgery or for the surgical procedure.

Dr. Chinnappan is an amazing doctor. In August 2018 when I starting seeing Dr. Chinnappan I had a lot of health issues and had no energy at all. I had my surgery in December 2018 and in 4 months I've lost 85 lbs and I'm currently not taking any medications. All of my health issues are gone. I have tons of energy and can do things like hiking and jogging. Dr. Chinnappan genuinely cares about his patients. I am so thankful for him and his team. Dr. Kumaran is very professional, he takes his time for you , explaining procedures and letting you know the risks. I found him for my husband’s surgery and then continued with him for my journey and could not be happier. Dr. Kumaran has amazing bedside manner and takes the time to make sure your doing great. His staff is very helpful and also the hospital experience at mercy in St. Louis across from his office was a great outcome. I can’t thank him enough for helping us both!!
Dr. Kumaran is wonderful and I would recommend anyone interested in bariatric surgery to see him.
