:) If the conditions are so horrible then report them the the SPCA for neglect. If the owners are unwilling to keep basic housekeeping and care, don't stop there, report it. I read your comments and sympathize but not shopping there won't solve the situation.
Hella expensive The store smells awful, and the kittens are always sick looking. they also charge $3 for ONE feeder mouse. I liked going there before to look at the fish and snakes but I know I can find a better deal some place else. Their prices are ridiculous. Most of the employees are super nice though.
Horrible Conditions !!! This past weekend, my kids and I went to Aqua Tropics to check into feeder mice for my sons snake. Upon entering the store, the overwhelming stench of amonia (urine) smacked us in the face. We made our way back to the reptile section where we observed horrific conditions. D E A T H! I had bought two beautiful but young looking kittens from here. My Story is just the same as Mike T's! First off the place smelled horrible, it was maybe 70 degrees out and inside it was much more. we noticed grime in every corner but thought that it was normal I guess. AquaTropics - The Ma and Pa Store I love shopping at AquaTropics because I feel like I matter. Every time I shop at AquaTropics I am treated with respect. My questions are listened to (no matter how silly I feel they are) and answered. I don't feel like a number and I never feel rushed.
Pet rat I liked them, they are cheaper than Petsmart and have a bigger variety. I bought my rat here and though I was slightly worried because they were being kept in aquariums, my rattie turned out just fine. I took him to the vet and he got a clean bill of health from him. The only issues I had were A: they didn't have carry home boxes for the small pets, B: they were using pine or cedar for the small animal bedding (can cause respiratory issues) and C: it kind of had a bad smell to it, like to many animals in one place. Solid Local Fish Store Their fish section is decent. Relatively few dead fish in the tanks (way fewer than Petco, anyway). Some of the staff are very knowledgable about fish care and the ones that aren't are at least honest about it (they don't BS you). They offer free tank water testing, which is great. You have to wait a while to get helped, but it's worth it. They're the best non-chain fish store in the Tri-Cities.
Fish I have been to aqua tropics for a number of things. Bearded dragons for my son with a tank and crickets, Fish and Hammsters for my daughters, Food, Fishtanks.
