AquaTropics - The Ma and Pa Store I love shopping at AquaTropics because I feel like I matter. Every time I shop at AquaTropics I am treated with respect. My questions are listened to (no matter how silly I feel they are) and answered. I don't feel like a number and I never feel rushed. I really enjoy what AquaTropics has done to the store recently. Rip-off I brought in a large number of coral because I was told by the employees that I could trade them for a fish that I wanted. Once they gave me my store credit, I was told to come back for the fish. When I went in to get it the owner told me that the fish was not for sale and that I would have to use my store credit elsewhere. There is absolutely nothing else that I want from that store. Interesting This place is the one-stop shop in the Tri-Cities for fish. They have some of the most beautiful fish available there and have a great selection of reptiles too. The staff there is very knowledgable and very helpful. They even do tours for young children and teach them about the animals there. Very great business!
Good Pet Store! Very good pet store!They seem to always know what to do if your in need of help for your pet, and are very helpful.The prices are more than most chain places (Petco, Petsmart) But you would expect that for how there animals seem to stay alive better...Replying to Someone Else's post. THE STORE SMELLS LIKE ANIMALS. If you have ever owned a pet in your life, you'd know they don't smell like roses. Dogs and cats alone aren't great smelling, so you cant really blame it on filth...
Fish I have been to aqua tropics for a number of things. Bearded dragons for my son with a tank and crickets, Fish and Hammsters for my daughters, Food, Fishtanks. It does have a smell to it almost like a farm or home would with all the animals its hard to keep that many cages clean at one time. The turtle in the small holding tank belongs to the owner of the store and goes home with him at night to a large pond and home it has its own room. D E A T H! I had bought two beautiful but young looking kittens from here. My Story is just the same as Mike T's! First off the place smelled horrible, it was maybe 70 degrees out and inside it was much more. we noticed grime in every corner but thought that it was normal I guess. I was told the place was awesome by some friend of a friend, and I never really visited pet shops before so I thought why not check it out me and my family were looking for companions anyways. aqua tropics smells, rude employees not the selection of fish they had years ago, also the fish some were double in price compared to other pet stores so look around first. Tanks are nasty looking, smells awful back by the turtle tanks like rot or something dead. High prices for small aquatic plants in comparison to other aquatic stores aqua tropics is way over priced. :) If the conditions are so horrible then report them the the SPCA for neglect. If the owners are unwilling to keep basic housekeeping and care, don't stop there, report it. I read your comments and sympathize but not shopping there won't solve the situation.
Horrible Conditions !!! This past weekend, my kids and I went to Aqua Tropics to check into feeder mice for my sons snake. Upon entering the store, the overwhelming stench of amonia (urine) smacked us in the face. We made our way back to the reptile section where we observed horrific conditions. There were two adult bearded dragons in the smallest cage available, with no water and they were literally climbing the walls.
