AquaTropics - The Ma and Pa Store I love shopping at AquaTropics because I feel like I matter. Every time I shop at AquaTropics I am treated with respect. My questions are listened to (no matter how silly I feel they are) and answered. I don't feel like a number and I never feel rushed. I really enjoy what AquaTropics has done to the store recently. They have torn down walls, which really opened up the store and made it feel roomier. There are collections of butterflies and tasteful novelty items spread throughout the store.... read more
Remodeling aqua tropics!!! This mom n pop type shop is coming along beautifully. They are in the midst of a remodel , looking good.Large variety of amphibians etc. tropical plants huge selection very healthy. Can hardly wait to see what happens in there aquariums both freshwater and salt. All employees are very informative,pleasant, I look forward do doing more business with Crystal and Mike. Unsatisfactory Conditions I went into the store the other day to visit the birds and reptiles, and was surprised to see one parakeet frantically biting his feet and falling off the cage bars repeatedly. STAY AWAY FROM AQUA TROPICS 'MIKE' THE OWNER IS UNFRIENDLY, RUDE AND THREATENING TOWARDS CUSTOMERS. I was ejected me from the store after he mistakenly interpreted my customer service issue as a personal insult. Story; I regularly buy feeder rats for our snake. Two feeder rats had died a few hours after I purchased them at his store. One died in our snake cage. The other one was still in its store packaging. Rip-off I brought in a large number of coral because I was told by the employees that I could trade them for a fish that I wanted. Once they gave me my store credit, I was told to come back for the fish. When I went in to get it the owner told me that the fish was not for sale and that I would have to use my store credit elsewhere. There is absolutely nothing else that I want from that store. What a store Ok, My kids dragged me to aqua tropics to see the big turtles!. I found out later that they are sulcatta tortoises.This place is like a small zoo. Especially with all the tropical plants they have around the store.I've been to a lot of pet stores all over the west coast and they rank right at the top.Every one is friendly and very knowledgeable about there animals.After them spending about an hour with me going over requerments for keeping a sulcatta I toke one home, they even had a care sheet for me.Personalize... read more
D E A T H! I had bought two beautiful but young looking kittens from here. My Story is just the same as Mike T's! First off the place smelled horrible, it was maybe 70 degrees out and inside it was much more. we noticed grime in every corner but thought that it was normal I guess. aqua tropics smells, rude employees not the selection of fish they had years ago, also the fish some were double in price compared to other pet stores so look around first. Tanks are nasty looking, smells awful back by the turtle tanks like rot or something dead. High prices for small aquatic plants in comparison to other aquatic stores aqua tropics is way over priced. Horrible Conditions !!! This past weekend, my kids and I went to Aqua Tropics to check into feeder mice for my sons snake. Upon entering the store, the overwhelming stench of amonia (urine) smacked us in the face. We made our way back to the reptile section where we observed horrific conditions. There were two adult bearded dragons in the smallest cage available, with no water and they were literally climbing the walls.
