A MUST GO TO RESTAURANT !! – From the moment we walked to the moment we left, we felt like royalty. Villa Antonio is just the place you want to come if you want to impress! The restaurant is dark and romantic with candlelight on the table, fresh flowers, and live music to take your date dancing. The dessert cart is amazing so many choices. We had the calamari and it was to die for. The best I ever had. The Owner, Antonio and General Manager, Anthony even came over to speak to us. The sommelier recommended a nice bottle of wi... read more
overrated – new to charlotte weekly i try a new italian rest...service excellent the food was not.veal sali boca loaded with cheeze ugh..veal medalians rough not tender..maybe a third of a slice of prosutto..made with spinage not escarole...poor.the small vegies excellent.fresh firm tasty..2 forkfuills of pasta cooked el dente..the sause had flavor..the bread a joke..not hardcrusted italian but more like a cornbread...no flavor and instead of extra virgin olive oil to dip in they gave vineger...a nice looking place but the f... read more
villa antonio ballantyne – The villa antonio new location is not even close to the original. They published a self review in a local paper and said their staff was the "Rolls Royce of courteous and knowledeable" what a joke. On two visits to the new location, my family and I found the staff to be rude and certainly not knowledeable. The prices are outrageous and the wine list is so overpriced it is insulting. I am glad they think so highly of themselves, because we certainly don't. Be ready to spend a lot of money and leave ... read more
not what it used to be – me and my wife been loyal costumers of villa antonio for more than 8 years and is very sad for me to see that the food is not what it used to be is over priced and quality is not there food it used to be tasty i wil no come back there anymore i like antonio the owner service is good but they need to get that quality back
Don't book a party here – The food was average but overpriced. The service was slow. The worst part however, was one person ordered an appetizer and the next thing we knew everyone at the table was brought one. Because it was a birthday party no one wanted to cause a big scene and one person ended up having to pay for everyone's appetizer. A call to the restaurant the next day trying to address this problem was greeted by repeated "call back later responses" and rudeness. The owner himself never would talk to me about the pr... read more
A rare find – My fiance' and I drive from out of town to frequent this restaurant. The owners and wait staff are always superb. Not to mention that the food has never been anything less than amazing. If the chef's nightly creations has not been something that suited us or we were not in the mood for our regulars off the menu we have been treated like royalty with the family cooking special creations table side just for us. The wine list is great and the ambience is soft, gentle and quiet enough that two can carry on a wonder... read more
Was a regular – Me and my wife were regular at villa antonio, going there for more than 6 years. The athmosphere and decor keeps getting better and better with the extension of the restaurant. Unfortunately our last experience has not been the best, the food quality and authenticity has decreased within the last year and prices are way too high. We will give it a last shot hoping for the old "villa antionio " back. The spanish owner Antonio was welcoming every time we dine there i might add.
Don't go on Valentine's Day!!! – Their Valentine's Day "special" was way over-priced...we thought we were getting a huge deal at $75 per couple, seeing as to how most restaurants do specials per couple, and got charged $75 per person instead...looking at the menu online, there is no way the food they served would cost over $50 per person, much less $75. On top of that, when our server found out I was allergic to seafood he acted like we were being a huge inconvenience to him, although my boyfriend had called ahead and alread... read more
Best Italian in Charlotte – I just wanted to add to the other reviews that this place is for real. It's Italian the way it should be. It is not cheap, but if you are looking for great food, service, and something besides olive garden, eat here. Highly recommended!!
