What a beautiful place. I was blessed to be in Lancaster during poppy bloom!
absolutely beautiful. constant flow of people able to find parking spot w long lines. people need to obey the rules. stay on the trail and stop going off. along the road before reserve you can do that. beware of rattlesnakes fire department told us major rise in bites w people going off trails to get that perfect picture. many places for great views and pictures.
We took the kids there during spring break (end of April). It's getting hot the early bloomers are getting dry but the poppies are still beautiful as ever. Will definitely again...a must see to appreciate. If you can't afford the entrance fee, there are many fields that are free.
