They saved our cat Our cat had a seizure at 7pm, having never had one in the past, so we were freaked out to say the least. We rushed her to the ER vet as ours does not have emergency hours. She was barely breathing by the time we got there.Yes, they take your money faster than you can get your wallet out - and they charge a lot. BUT, they are open when others are not and work unsocial hours. I would expect that they would be more expensive. In any event, they stabilized her and kept her overnight. We picked her up and took ... read more
do not go here I brought my dog in and it took 2 hours and me going up to complain to finally get the vet to come in. They told us we were next when we first got there then 2 hours later I finally got the vet in to see my dog. Vet not very friendly.
Rude, incompetent, unprofessional service After 4 visits to this ER?, and I use that term lightly, with our pet for emergency help it seems all they are interested in is getting paid high fees. We waited each time for extended lengths of time and certainly were not served as though we had an emergency. This after visiting repeated times for the same emergency, plus phoning ahead of these visits to let them know we would be rushing in. Upon arrival there were no other patients in the waiting area. One of these times was to pi... read more
Extremely Rude My mom had to take our family dog here after hearing from our regular Vet she had a tumor on her spline. Everyone in the family was out of town, and my poor mom had to go all alone. The staff said they would support my mom in whatever decision she made. She decided it was best to put our dog down, so our dog wouldn't have to suffer anymore. The staff was so rude to my mom and said snide remarks about the decision. I thought they had said they would support her? Doesn't sound like support to me. After hearing h... read more
Wonderful care for my cat My cat, Cheddar, was severely injured last year with a torn diaphragm muscle that needed repair or he would have died. Dr. Sweeney performed the surgery at my regular vet's office and then my cat had his aftercare at the Animal Emergency Center in Sunset. Every staff member that I came into contact with was caring and knowledgable. When I called to check on him they were very prompt to give an accurate reply and to make suggestions for continued care. Because they are only open during certain hours ... read more
Thanks!! I have 3 dogs that are a big part of our family. One evening last summer, I was walking my dogs as I do every night. We had almost returned home when a dog that had escaped from its backyard attacked one of my dogs. My dogs are very small (papillons), and the dog that attacked was a bullmastiff. This dog had my dog in his mouth, and was shaking him violently back and forth. Eventually, I was able to get him free. My dog had a very large laceration on his back, and had been bitten in the eye. It was later in the even... read more
I had to put my animal down. I'm sorry to the review below about your lose and experience at the animal emergency center but I have to say that I had to put my dog down who also was like a kid to me. I loved her so much and she was my baby and the staff there were extremely helpful and nice. They were gentle and sympathetic and I felt like they cared. My animal too yelped as she was being injected with whatever they use but they explained that, that could happen. I got her remains and they were beautiful. This place has impr... read more
Put dog to sleep Our 15 year old dog had been ill and our regular vet was not avialable. Our dog became very ill and I knew it was time to have him put down. I went to the Animal ER and the person at the front counter was very nice and respectful, but the person who came into the room for us to fill out paperwork was loud and although they have business to care of I felt she was coarse and thoughtless. When they finally came in and gave him the shot he yelped like he was in tremendous pain. He did not go quietly and softly l... read more
Amazing The Animal Emergency Center is amazing. There staff is so efficient and caring. I brought my dog in there over the weekend because he had eaten a lot of chocolate. They hospitalized him over the weekend and let me come and visit. I think that if anyone every needs to have their animal seen when regular vets are closed that this is the place to go! They really care about our animals and I appriciate them being there in a time of need! Thanks ER staff!
