Sod Installation – I received 4 quotes from other sod installation companies and Andrew Darr Ground Maintenance was by far the best price. We ended up with a total of 13 pallets of sod being laid. The grass was very green and healthy. Andrew also helped with my irrigation system. I will be contacting him soon to start my backyard sod install project. I would definitely recommend Andrew to my friends!
Unsatisfactory results – Paid (more than originally quoted) to have my front lawn (15 pallets) resodded with Zoyzia, including first killing all existing grass. What I got was about 80% Zoyzia and 20% CRABGRASS. The only meaningful comment I got from Mr. Darr was "I'm sorry that happened". He has refused to take any corrective action.
GREAT SOD INSTALL – I recently had my lawn serviced by Drew and Ben with Andrew Darr Ground Maintenance. I wanted to post my review in contrast to the testimonial offered by "damntourists". Not only was the price I was quoted accurate but the service I experienced was exceptional. Drew replaced the sod for my home and came back twice to make sure that the sod was thriving after the install. Lousy Service – Well we went with him because he was local and had good reviews online (friends and family probably). We ended up paying more than quoted (wish I had that option in my work) 1. because "his costs went up" and 2. because he didn't measure the yard correctly. In my humble opinion he should have eaten that cost. I've tried contacting him about some aftercare and he was less than helpful. Now I'm going to have to hire someone since the yard looks like crap.
