Having worked under the guidance of Dr Albert at his office I can say without a doubt that he is one of the warmest, most caring and intelligent people I have come across. Apart from imparting a great amount of knowledge related to the field of Gastroenterology, he taught me how to take proper care of patients and to make sure all their queries are answered and that they go home feeling at ease. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a comptent and empathetic GI!
Dr. Albert is warm, kind, smart, and dedicated and I've known him for 10 yrs. I've also learned to appreciate that he's incredibly busy in his director role at the hospital and speaking engagements in Washington DC. I've had UC for over 15 years but never felt that "connection" with my doctor. When Dr. Albert and I started years ago, I was a nervous wreck. he put me at ease and I won't go anywhere else. I have that comfort/connection with him and I won't go anywhere else)
My time with Dr. Albert has been frustrating at best. At one point during my treatment, I tried calling his office a dozen times, left at least four voicemails and as many emails, and I never heard back from them (more than a month). It wasn't until I complained to my PCP that the hospital looked into it and they finally got back to me. Today I went to pick up records during their normal hours and it was inexplicably closed. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor. That's what I'm doing now
Had colonoscopy today by Dr. Andrew Albert at Illinois Masonic Hospital in a relatively brand new wing. Dr. Albert's professional staff ranging from his nurses Thor and Kevin to the hospitals staff including anesthesiologist-Debbie we're great! Entire check in and out went fast and uneventful experience! Made some special requests the staff was happy to accommodate. Met with Dr. Albert before and after which simply confirmed he is a really good doctor, father who cares about people!
Although it has been two years since I have seen Dr. Albert he will always be the doctor I seek out for my Gastro needs. I was referred to him by my PCP for issues I was having with my stomach. Dr. Albert is that doctor you dream of having, his genuine, he puts you at ease, he is patient and he talks to you on people level so that you understand what is going on and how he will go about getting you better. I thank God for his warm genuine caring spirit.
