Not so impressed with the clinic itself on how they handle patients financial business. But that aside Mr. Munk is great doctor. A great listener. He doesn’t drive thru window service. And will do everything besides pick you up and carry you around everyday before surgery is option. After 10+ of back pain and 3 specialist later he was the first one that ever showed and explained to me what was going on with my medical issues. Great staff, Dr Munk is by far my favorite. Will continue to use and recommend Mendelson Kornblum Orthopedics.
The first visit with this office I didn't even see him. His Physician's Assistant (Elaine) came and reviewed my history and to discuss options. A few x-rays were taken and she stated that that no surgery would be needed based on the x-rays. She ordered two MRI's of my spine (the Lumbar & Thoracic). I had to drive to Royal Oak in order to use their MRI Company. My follow up appoint yesterday (3/2/22) was the WORST experience I've ever had. I loved Dr Munks “bedside manner”! He is just a normal guy! Not pushy or shovey! He talked plain English and didn’t color his words with medical terms most don’t understand. He’s a very personable guy and even though he couldn’t help me, he listened and seemed to actually care. I could talk to that man all day! His personality is a breath of fresh air!
I was having issues with my leg and back and Dr. Jeff Mendelson referred me to Dr. Monk who diagnosed me with an SI joint issue. I got the injections to confirm that was the issue, after which Dr. Monk performed the fusion. It has been 4 months since my surgery and it has changed my life. I am so thankful for both of these surgeons, Dr. Jeff for the referral and Dr. Monk for fixing me.
Spent 45 minutes in his examining room to be met by his assistant only. Never did see the jerk. Won't do surgery because I'm diabetic. He never had the guts to come in and tell me himself. Apparently, I wasn't worth his time.
