Dr. Smithline answered all my questions and was reassuring about my nervousness with having my first colonoscopy. The morning of the surgery she met with me prior to the procedure and afterwards with the results. I would recommend Dr. Smithline and go back to her again. An improvement in the amount of time that a patient is in the waiting room for the consultation appointment would be appreciated.
I have been going to Dr. Smithline for over 20 years. She is a fabulous Dr. I have been traveling from N.Y to Conn. to see her and it is well worth the trip. She takes time to listen to you and your concerns and shows she cares.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Most unprofessional doctor I have ever come across in my life. Took not one but TWO personal calls right in front of me! No apology, explanation, nothing. Gave me incorrect information (thankfully I am on top of my own medical history.) Came off overall as cold, disorganized, and disinterested. I would never let this woman perform a medical procedure on me.
I highly recommend Dr. Amy Smithline. She is unusually connecting & caring. Her communication skills are top-notch. She is an “out of the box” sort of doctor with a refreshing free-spirited mentality. I instantly felt @ great ease, under her care. She calmed my anxieties immensely & the procedure couldn’t have gone better. I’d give her 6 stars if I could.
Dr. Smithline came highly recommended by several of my doctors and friends. She has always been warm and welcoming. She is easy to talk to and no matter how busy the waiting room is, she always makes you feel like you are her only patient. She is a very competent and professional doctor. Since being in her care my symptoms have subsided. I could not be happier.
I have been a patient of Dr. SMithline’s for 8 years. Her manner is gentle and caring. She gives her patients the time and attention they need. In this area of busy medical offices I think hers is well-managed.. She is a very competent physician and I would recommend her without hesitation to my family and friends.
I am baffled at the lack of respect I've received from this office. I called up to get test results they inform me the Dr will call in 1 day. I called 5 days in a row & every day hear the same thing-never received a call. Finally, a receptionist gave me results so I would stop asking for a call back. After 3 weeks, the Dr finally calls from a blocked number-"I heard you got your results, if you're in pain again call me back" I was never able to ask questions to Dr about the results-still in pain
Although a colonoscopy is not a day at the beach, the view of Holly Pond and the LIS from the Surgical Center at East Main could make you feel otherwise. Quite nice. Dr. S is experienced, highly competent and her credentials are top shelf. Her office is busy, but in my case she took the time for a thorough history and a very kind discussion of my background and health needs. Worth a short wait. I am both picky and knowledgable when it comes to health care, and I highly recommend Dr. S.
