If I could give a lower review of Amy M Barrows, ARNP I would. I brought my daughter to the Providence Monroe walk in clinic & had no choice on who she was seen by. My daughter asked me to describe her symptoms to Amy because she gets anxious as the appointment progressed my daughter asked if she could talk with Amy alone (totally support this I have ALWAYS given my daughter that space & encourage self efficacy). This woman should not be seeing patients, diagnosing or formulating treatments plans. Her blatant incompetence allowed what began as a minor case of cellulitis to turn into an emergency room situation by prescribing doxycycline, an antibiotic no knowledgeable physician would prescribe to treat cellulitis and recommending my partner use a compression sock on the infected leg. Amy Barrows needs to either retire or take a long break to reeducate herself.
Zero stars! Do NOT see this provider! I had to request a different Dr (her manager) to come in and provide care for my distraught daughter who had a laceration on her leg that needed mending with glue. Amy was very rude, and dismissive stating it was “too late” to use glue-even though 24 hours hasn’t even passed since the injury. Her manager even came in and agreed my daughter’s wound needed to be glued so it would stay closed as it was just an inch below her knee.
