Attached to a ceramics museum, this is a great place to meet other creative people while learning how to make pottery and ceramic sculpture in beautiful Pomona. They host classes, parties, offer studio membership, and also do firing services. Want to set up your own studio space? They rent out private and semi-private spaces by the month too. It's time to get your hands dirty!
I've had a student membership for less then a year , and I love working here everyone there is very welcoming , and when you need help, the studio managers or any of the members are always there to help.
I've been associated with the studio for about a month and a half, and it's great. Other studio members are so helpful and so nice about everything. If you're ever confused or wanna know how to do something for the most part everyone is willing to help. They also have all kinds of cool classes to take and learn more about ceramics. 10/10 recommend to anyone who is considering becoming a member.
I can't even begin to tell you how awesome AMOCA is! The staff is really patient and easy to talk to. They are kind and respectful. If you ever need any help they would not hesitate to assist you. It honestly feels like one big family and i wouldn't want to work anywhere else. Its so wonderful to work beside so many talented people and to learn a great deal from everyone. I recently retired and was looking for something to do. Joined a spring class of Beginning Hand Building and absolutely love it. Our instructor Jillian is awesome and each project is demonstrated and explained for us to complete. You see your piece go thru each stage of firing and glazing and end up with a finished piece of work. The atmosphere is friendly and very relaxed. Everyone is there to help each other.
