Throughout college, I was debating becoming a teacher versus a doctor. It was the science of medicine that convinced me; I realized how much I enjoyed learning about the intricacies and oddities of the human body! I feel blessed to have become an academic dermatologist, a job where I can fulfill my passions for teaching and science while also taking care of patients. I am honored to hold the trust of my patients, and I enjoy working with them to solve what ails them!

Dr Ahmed was caring, thorough and he made an excellent diagnosis that I ( an Md ) was unaware of. I highly recommend Dr Ahmed!
Really GREAT experience!! Everyone, including the security guard at the front desk of the parking garage was really friendly and helpful. Dr. Ahmed did a wonderful job explaining the process and what he was doing while doing it, explained things he found that needed attention, etc. But, he also took the time to ASK about me personally, how I was feeling, how my day and week were going, etc. I felt as if we had been friends for years even though we had just met for the first time. Absolutely superb!!!

Being a new resident in Austin I researched about dermatology practices. I’m nearly 79 and have been recovering from a bad fall over a year now. Time for my important skin check. Dr. Maya is Dr. Ahmed’s PA and I loved her personality and how she explained things so well. She made me feel very comfortable. Then, Dr Ahmed came in and he was friendly, made good eye contact and answered all my questions. Office staff are nice enough? Clinical staff are nice enough? Doctor Ahmed is okay? I don't feel like he paid any real attention to me, or to the severity of my problem. He gave a rapid, perfunctory explanation of eczema, and didn't really address the history I had detailed for him. I came in for patch-testing, and after waiting 40 minutes the nurse asked me to change, then she opened the door seconds later, while I was topless. For my patch removal, my partner and I waited for a full hour in an empty office, clearly forgott... read more

Dr. Ahmed is friendly, knowledgeable, and answers all your questions in detail.
I’ve been going to him several years. He is thorough, friendly, patient, competent. He has residents working with him so they check you first. You can see what a great educator and mentor he is to the residents. I’ve also seen Dr. Brett Keeling and she is amazing too. I imagine all the doctors in this practice are great.

Took time to treat several lesions. Froze several and wants me to come back in six months while seeing if a possible basal cell is growing.
