This location has been my go to place to donate for quite some time. I have done all types of donations, but this last one has me pretty upset. I must have been the last donation for the day. I was the only donor there and three Red Cross attendants. They hooked me up for a simple whole blood donation. As the blood started to flow, they begin to talk amongst themselves. I belong to a Veterans Organization/Agency. I try to do a walk-in appointment to accomplish 2 things at the Athens Location. 1. Give Blood/Double Reds 2. Attempt to speak with staff about participating in one of my Veterans Community events that I put together annually. - After completing my initial screening and (properly identifying myself being from a Federal Agency and providing credentials). This was my first time donating and I didn't really know what to expect. I made an appointment online and completed the RapidPass prior to arriving. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. The whole team did a great job at explaining the procedure and making sure I was doing okay. I will definitely be coming back to donate in the future!
