Experienced phlebotomists do a good job.
I wasted two hours of driving time to be told that I can't donate double red blood because I haven't donated through the Red Cross before. However, I have, It's just been years since I've used the Red Cross because of my last bad experience and I've used OBI for the past 15 years because of that experience. The Red Cross should update its online registration process so that individuals are notified when they register, preventing wasted time and gas money for both parties.
It's absolutely ridiculous to make an appointment to donate blood and then have to wait an hour to do so after the appointment time.
My partner and I went to donate but their machine said my hemoglobin was too low. I knew that wasn't right. My partner was able to give no problem but not me. I turned around and went to OBI and, with a finger prick test instead, was able to donate there (my partner and I had a bet that no, it is not because I'm vegan. I knew I was not anemic!).
