I've been donating power reds for years. I was excited to donate platelets for the first time. I took a day off from work with no pay. Drove almost one hour to Akron, only to be told that because I had scratches on my arm, which I got from working on my car, that I couldn't donate. I was crushed. They just looked at me and said nope, walked away..... almost as if I had the plague. I will not be back. My first impression of the Akron office was like having to listen to Dr Fauci all over again. Soooooo disappointing.
I've been a universal blood donor regularly for several years. Some at this location and other times at nearby blood drives. Today I was very happy with Lisa H. Her professionalism and care was evident from start to finish so much that I decided to schedule a future donation when eligible which I usually don't. Thanks for the job well done.
Unfortunately the phlebotomist was unprofessional and very rude when I asked him to back the needle out a little because it was pinching.
