First time here yesterday to donate blood—even with an appointment I still had to wait about half hour. Once called, the process was fine—went through some questions (I had my rapid pass), took my vitals and proceeded with the bloodwork. The phlebotomist did a good job finding my small vein (an issue I have at every donation) so it was a smooth process. The lounge chair was comfy. Afterwards, they had snacks and drinks in the waiting area—not a huge variety but at least there’s something for us to snack on.
I’ve donated here twice. Every time I donated, my appointment didn’t start until way past my appointment slot. My first appointment was 1.5 hours past my original time and my second, 45 minutes past my original time. Please be aware of this before you come in! Some of the staff were nice, but others seemed a little stressed and irritated. I want to keep donating blood, but the wait time is so so ridiculous that I can’t take off 3 hours from work just for this when it should only be like a one hour thing. Second time I've tried to donate here. First time, I left after waiting an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment time. This time, it was only a 40 minute wait. The staff didn't place the needle correctly and had to reposition it four times, but not before threatening to take it out and turn me away because I indicated that the repositoning a third and fourth time hurt. Nice place overall. Would’ve appreciated a wider variety of snacks and drinks!
While the wait time can sometimes be long after you check in the staff are super friendly and fast once you get in the chair.
