I would not recommend donating blood- or anything for that matter here. Nowhere on the red cross website or in the donor information for the location did it state that there were no visitors (red cross actually ENCOURAGES visitors) and despite the fact that both my boyfriend and I were donating we were not even allowed to be placed next to each other or see each other. Best donor center team in the Atlanta area. Kudos to Tabitha and Ro. Platelet donation went with zero issues. I will return here in two weeks. Keep up the good work. 274 lifetime donations. BTW I drove up from Newnan. 35 miles one way on a Friday.
Midtown Atlanta has become my "go to" location for donating blood. Every staff member has been experienced and very capable at drawing blood from my tiny veins and making sure that I get a few extra minutes before leaving the facility. The comfortable chairs ensure a relaxing experience. A special shout-out to Joshua R. He was amazing and so appreciative of all who donate blood.
I scheduled an appointment at this location and arrived ready to donate blood. Before beginning the process, I politely asked if I could have my blood drawn from a seated position instead of lying down, as I find it uncomfortable to donate when elevated. Other Red Cross locations have accommodated this request without any issue, so I assumed it would not be a problem. I donated blood this morning and it was a great experience. Joshua was amazing! So very kind and professional. The center is clean and bright. I’ll be back soon to donate again.
