You order their products and they just take your money without you receiving your order despite having a PAID membership and needing their books ASAP since you're a student. Customer service is useless and takes weeks to respond if at all, my instructors with credentials have even tried to get in touch with them on my behalf about this and they are also being ignored. Absolutely shameful for an organization that claims to be leading the world in health information management, they don't have their ****together. By the looks ... read more

Bravo to AHIMA!! For 30 years+, we were required to complete our CEU's by the 31st of December and submit our documentation and payment by January 31st. While the world was looking in the other direction worrying about their jobs, staying healthy and hoping their loved ones did not catch covid and die, you changed your 30+ year policy within weeks requiring everything including payment due on December 31st. You knew this new policy would be missed by many people and it was a way of taking advantage of your credential holders... read more

I can’t believe that in order to reinstate my credential it costs $368, how unforgiving!! I got distracted by Covid family losses and being unemployed due to lack of business during a global pandemic. I even tried to get assistance through their foundation and sent an email asking for assistance and they didn’t have the consideration to respond back to my email request. This use to be an organization that I was once a proud member of now they are just greedy and money hungry like the rest and the website is awful to boot.

Appears many have the same complaint about the practice of certification renewal. I also got caught in the trap of paying $50 a year in addition to my membership fee for the certification renewal. I loss my job in February and was able to obtain another one in December but waited for the three months before renewing my membership/certification renewal so I could submit payment to my new employer. I renewed prior to the March 31st certification renewal deadline. Later, I checked so I could print my renewed certification only ... read more

In February 4, 2019, I filled out an application to take the CCS test and stated that my Native American tribe would be paying for my test. When I found out that it would take 4 to 6 weeks for the check to process, I called Customer Relations and paid with my card as my mother-in-law said she would help me with the exam fee. I asked the customer service representative what would happen when they received the check from my tribe (my tribe had sent the payment on Wednesday and I paid with my card that Saturday before they rece... read more

Last year in 2017. I took the RHIT twice and both times I made a 298 being 2 point from passing. So it's kinda ironic that a lot of people are saying the same thing. I think that it might be an error in the test for so many people to come that close and not pass. I ask Ahima to go back and take a look at my test they denied me. I took the test this year and failed it again. Then I recevied this from Ahima. AHIMA carefully monitors the pass/fail rate of its certification exams and determined that some of the test scores for t... read more

A review of AHIMA. I know a few of the people that work here and have even written articles for their monthly publication. The people are wonderful. However, their data systems and customer service is awful. It is like the company has 2 faces, the people you meet at conferences are great; the people you deal with for the website are trying to extract maximum profit from you. I purchased an annual membership in order to get a discount renewal fee for my credential. I later found out that the membership needed to be maintain... read more
