AHIMA is a company that believes in making money at any cost!!! If you call the customer service line be prepared to hold for at least a hour and then they are very nonchalant in resolving issues. They could careless about the economy and employment status and just want money, regardless of whether you have been a member 20 years or 2 years.

I am extremely disappointed in in the AHIMA organization. I was in a hardship situation with my husband having had brain cancer. Due to that I changed my AHIMA membership from Active to Emeritus. Apparently unknown to me she also revoked my credentials. I earned these credentials by taking very tough examinations. Due to my husbands cancer I kept up my *** the best I could. I called AHIMA at the time to explain my situation and they said no problem they would make notification. I now have a job opportunity but may lose it du... read more

I spent $299 to take the *** exam for 4 hours, well I was not given the sufficient amount of time to take my exam I was only give 3 hours and ***************************************************************************************************************************************** the test time which I found also due to my disability I was suppose to have accommodations and wasn't provided my accommodations either. I scored 281 on that exam but still had 30 questions remaining that I didn't get a chance to even look at due to ... read more

I find it mind bending that people refer to going to AAPC. There is nothing that is less expensive at AAAPC. AAPC is owned by a Federal Felon. (This is public court record) It is in debt $250 million and it just raised its fees (again) by the most ever. Perhaps to pay that $250 million that the owner used the company to borrow? AAPC has been bankrupt once and another is highly likely based on this debt. ***** is a cooperating party to ICD 10 and has had that industry standing since the 1960's. AHIMA is highly respected and h... read more

For those of you complaining about the $50 membership fee - the AAPC's membership fees are much higher.

Stay away from this organization! I have had issues with this organization. It is not reputable. My latest incident has been resolved and like others it involved certification. My credential was revoked because, according to *****, I did not pay the correct amount and, at one point, they told me I paid late. I did not pay late because ***** posted a notice saying they were extending membership renewal 2 mos because of covid. I did pay at the very end of that extension time. I also received a form in regular mail that said I ... read more

***** is horrible. I just paid over 400 to keep my certification active when I could of paid 218 :) Your organization is a scam! Your own employee can't even explain correctly the recertification guide. So as you get to keep our nonrefundable stolen money during a time of the pandemic when our credit card get racked up or our bills become tight just to keep our certification active for our jobs, that many before joining a coding organization choose **** over your fraud organization. And I don't care if your policy changed in... read more

Absolutely horrible organization and like the person who left a review previously said, way to go AHIMA for taking advantage of people during a pandemic. I agree i am moving over to AAPC. AHIMA is a mess. They are taking payments and not sending the product and are not refunding. Its like money giving away.

Absolutely horrible organization and like the person who left a review previously said, way to go AHIMA for taking advantage of people during a pandemic. You pay for a $330 certification exam and because they are unable to deliver the exam for 9 months out of last year, they’ve rescinded my eligibility and demanded I pay again. I have emails from them assuring me an extension as long as they don’t have available test dates. They don’t care. I have emails accounting for every month of 2020 that I was eligible to schedule conf... read more
