I'm an Engineer and like being prepared for things. That being said it was time to investigate the options available in Assisted Living. Just in case. I visited many in the Fox Valley Area. Staff is very nice and pleasant to work with. I have been impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and living areas. I am pleased with how well the residents are cared for.
Even though Cindy and I had a short experience with The Landings, from day one we felt welcomed and part of the family. The staff is amazing and every day I visited I met more people who welcomed me with a smile. Diane always greeted me at the door with positive energy. Sophia, the activities coordinator, was always present with a smile and did her best to get Cindy to participate in activities. My mother was mistreated by staff on many occasions. During visits to see her, more than twice I found some of her medication on the floor of her suite. My mother had to call 911 because she was left in her chair for upwards of 5-6 hours after pressing her call button dozens of times. Upon police arrival they found a staff member rising from the couch of the locked facility and when questioned about why she hadn't responded to my mom, they were told that she was unaware that my mom apparently had a inoperative call button an... read more
