America led the world in providing a free K-12 education for every child. AFT leads the world in protecting and defending public education for all.
I was a member and Representative for 32 years. It was supportive of the teachers and students. We, Toledo Federation of Teachers, under leadership of Dal Lawrence, were 1st to have "Peer Review ". This made a world of difference. AFT supported this Professional Initiative and encouraged it's growth. Many teacher improvements were made and our Union remains innovative and solutions oriented. Labor unions were formed to protect workers’ safety. AFT must advocate for gun control and mental health services to protect teachers’ and students’ safety and safe schools!
AFT is a politically charged Left, dishonest Union.In my opinion and review, it places fear in its followers and the public as a whole. Shame on this Union and all it says it stands for. Public Education is not a Federal problem, it's a State issue and all funding this Union pushes to receive from the Federal Government is Unconstitutional. This Union should be shut down. In my opinion this Union is in bed with the Deep State and is propaganda disgrace.
Betsy gets an A+!! She is attempting to push through change that is desperately needed in our educational system. For far too long there has been a steady decline in the systems ability to provide educational excellence. Educators need to be accurately measured against real standards and eliminated for poor performance. The unions have protected marginal performance due to race issues and the desire to maintain their need for funding their own greedy agenda. Just saying! Vouchers!
