Very Poor Service, Lots of Attitude – Forgive my negativity, but I have had three experiences with American Dream Pizza and all were very disappointing. First time: cashier was extremely rude, rushing me to order, not answering a simple question, huffy. Second time: my business ordered pizza, they never showed up to deliver it. Third time: my business ordered pizza again, woman was very rude on the phone. Neither will my business nor I give them our service again until there are some attitude changes around that place.
Terrible – Worst Pizza ever tasted. Crust was burnt and hard, topping was spiced heavily with cumin. Pizza was oblong cut into squares, just not good
Best pizza in town – I moved to the hollywood district about 9 months ago and I will never order pizza from anywhere else again. American Dream is the best in town. If you like meatty pizza, try the Rat Pack Special. It is absolutely the best pizza ever! I have tried most of the pizza parlors in town and no one comes close to their quality and flavor
Worst crust ever! – After waiting one hour for our delivery on a Tuesday night (we are approximately 15 blocks from the store), we ate some of the worst pizza we have ever had. The crust is rock hard, to the point where our jaws hurt after two pieces, and apparently contains no salt whatsoever. The only plus is a very generous spread of toppings, which is helpful when that's all that is edible. Even if this was an off-night, it doesn't even deserve a second chance. Plus American Dream doesn't even cut the pie into slices!!
Just like my mamma used to make..... – You have to appreciate the fact that this place is exactly what it is: a pizza parlor. From the decorated boxes adorning the walls to the booths at which people sit and dine this place is a good neighborhood stop. Couple the aforementioned with the fact that they have an excellent crust which is not too dry and not too sweet and place that with a well made sauce, braided ends and a great(and different) selection of toppings and you have yourself one good pie! Consistently Terrific – Discovered American Dream in 1988; went to Alaska in 92, returned in 99; now living in Idaho. Whenever in Portland, this is a must visit. Crust is the best; crisp, yet tender, and the edges are brushed with ? -- oil? salt? garlic? -- I don't really know, but you will want to eat every ounce.
mmm... dreamy. – Their pies might be a tad bit more expensive than your average pizza resturant, but you're paying for quality. Great dough, great sauce, great cheese, and great toppings. Couldn't ask for more! Consistantly some of the best pizza I've ever had.
Phun Phun Phun – The American Dream is a great place for Pizza and fun. Great music accompanies great food in an eccentric atmosphere. The Dream is an Experience in Pizza and Fun. Try the Calzones. Their Huge and a great value. Great beer selections from Pabst Blue Ribbon to Mirror Pond. Check out the Full Sail Specialty Ales that change every month or so that aren't available in many restaurants. Well worth the trip!
I LOVE the dream! – American Dream has good pizza, great salads, and the best funky atmosphere. The service is always good, too!
