Warm, inviting Italian in LA... a dream! – We love, love, love Amarone! A quaint, charming Italian restaurant is exactly what LA needed! The owner could not be more pleasant, he's a gem and the staff is extremely accommodating! The food is perfectly executed and you can tell you fresh the ingredients are... it's truly one of our favorites!
Romantic and Memorable Birthday Dinner – From the first step into the beautifully intimate restaurant, our experience was top notch. The low candle light and attention to simple decor made us feel like we had been transported to an Italian village. My fiance took me to celebrate my birthday and every step of the way, they made it memorable. We arrived on time for our reservation and had to wait a brief moment for a table. To tide us over, we were given complementary champagne while we waited (and refils again when we were se... read more
Great food, great service! The best Italian food in LA – We were pleasantly suprised by this small restaurants outstanding food , wine selection and service. The attention to detail made for a delicious evening. Book reservations as it is a busy little place. The seafood was simple and not overdone. The eggplant appetizer was amazing and just the right size. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, specials and wine selections. We are looking forward to going back.
Please do not eat at this restaurant. – Do not patronize this restaurant. We had a 7:30 reservation, which I confirmed twice. We arrived at 7:35 and were told that our table had been given away. The host offered no apology and no accommodation. We were simply told that there was nothing available for the rest of the evening. When informed that it was my birthday, the host responded with complete and utter indifference.

People are passionnate here and it's all about good food and wine, nothing else...A great menu features fresh and organic food with renowned chef Guiseppe...I recommend you make a reservation- it's tiny cozy place...Ideal place for couples, so romantic and charming...you have to go
2-Hour Ordeal for Food on Valentine's Day – On Valentine's Day 2008, I made a reservation at this restaurant at 9:30PM. I was not seated until 10:30PM... and I waited for my food until 11:30PM or so. It was a prix-fixed for $70.00. I had no idea that it was a fixed menu... so after you sat down, what could you have done? The food was good, but was it worth the wait for a bill that came out to almost $600.00 for 4 prix-fixes (Excuse my French) and 2 bottles of wine? At 1:30AM after Valentine's Day, I felt used and abused. Tha... read more
Traditional Italian fare rules at this rustic, country-style kitchen situated amid the chaos of the Sunset Strip. – In Short Tucked along the same gritty Sunset stretch as the Viper Room, this pillbox-sized eatery is a comfy reprieve from the outside hubbub. Culinary simplicity of the Emilia-Romagna region is the rule here, with appetizers dominated by no-nonsense pastas like wild mushroom ravioli with sage, and rigatoni with sausage ragu. Heartier seconds include pork chops with a white canellini bean salad, and seared file... read more
Excellent authentic italian cuisine – This place is great! The reviews are pretty right on. It was surprising how easy parking was considering this place was on Sunset. Alessandro who works there was an amazing server/manager. He was extremely helpful with recommendations and very attentitve. The food was delicious - Appetizers we had were the proscuitto and burrata (always go burrata if you have a choice between it and mozzarella) and the swordfish carpaccio which were AWESOME. The veal chop and the steak with goat cheese w... read more
genuine italian gem! – I read only rave reviews about this place so decided to try it. I was more than impressed. The restaurant is small but beautifully decorated. The menu was extensive and everything we ordered was excellent. We had there house wine, which the restaurant is named after, and it was great. I started with a special that was the squid ink linguini and my boyfriend had the paparadelle. For dinner I had the sole and he had the lamb shank. Service was right on key and you could tell this is a very carefully run ... read more
