The flavor was okay, but the service left plenty to be desired. They needed to finish cooking the refried beans. The queso was sizzling hot thanks to the skillet it was served on but as runny as water and still had crunchy peppers. The taco salad in a shell came out on a plate full of greenish water (tip it up & pour it off). We got about 1/2 cup of salsa to serve 4 people. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were black & crunchy. Those of you who’ve been following my travel reviews know that, if anything, I’m relatively easy to please. Keep this in mind when I tell you that tonight may very well have been the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant anywhere in the world. Things were not going well from the moment we arrived. I expect limited capacity in the time of corona, but to claim a 25 minute wait with two thirds of the tables empty, no one waiting outside and only one name on the list ahead of us, was complete nonsense. Food was ok. What kind of Mexican restaurante doesn’t have horchata or Jamaica water? Shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese is not cotija cheese as they say in the menu. They don’t have what they advertise. Menu says negra modelo beer on tap but the server said they never had it. The fans are dirty!!!!! Server came only once to check us one and they weren’t busy they jus were chatting on the back.
Good food. First visit service was slow and not great. Second visit the opposite. Great service. Quick and friendly. Loved sitting outside looking over the creek. Saw deer both visits.
