Physician Our family would never consider any other clinic for our pets. We have gone there for years with cats and dogs and have had the best care ever! We so appreciate all their care and concern!
heartbroken if you love your pet, do not use this vet. lesson learned the hard way. vet is imcompetent, staff is very rude, communication is none. will never use them again.
I Count on Alta Vista Animal Hospital I read these reviews and wanted to share my own. I have been taking all of my pets to Alta Vista Animal Hospital since 1998 when the hospital was owned by Dr Steve Long. The hospital has always had a "country" feel; the suburbs grew up around the hospital.
Alta Vista Animal Hospital is BAD BAD BAD!!! I wish I would have read these reviews before agreeing to have my husband take our cat there. Dr. Hutchinson has zero people skills and seems to run the business as if she knows everything about your pet and you know nothing about your own pet. In trying to converse with her on my concerns, she kept cutting me off and not letting me finish; interjecting on what her game plan was (on a very vague level). Don't listen to anyone else.... Dr. Bennett (Hutchison) is a great vet. Despite what others have said, she is extremely competent and caring. I have been going to Alta Vista for years - even before Stephanie took over - and have never had any problems. The staff is also very competent and caring. As far as the "smell" goes at the clinic - IT IS A VETERINARIAN CLINIC. Duh! I actually have an appointment this afternoon for one of my dogs who is very sick. Will let you know if my opinion changes - don't hold your breath.
No longer the best or even close. This business use to be owned and operated by a great vet from Texas A&M. He had students rotate through. Yes it is a very rural style clinic. He was very caring about the pets and owners, had a good bedside manner, and loved his work. He sold and retired. The new vet is the complete opposite.I will never set foot there again. Good Vet I have been taking all of my dogs and cats to this vet for the past 4 years and I have always had a good experience. The staff is very friendly and always handle my animals with care. I have never had a problem booking an appointment, even if it is at the last minute. When one of my cats had surgery and had a fever, they took really good care of him and continuously called me to update me on his condition. Crooks! Do not give them a penny! They want to do a full blood test etc. everytime you go back just to get more money. It doesn't matter if your pet is dying they would rather get their money first! Plain and simple. The turnover in emplyees is high there as well because of this. Typical Aggie ran business. STAY AWAY!!!
VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE! Raised on a farm, I'm very particular about the Vet I choose for my pets. I can't say enough about the care they have received from Dr Hutchinson and her staff. The young ladies at the front desk and the technicians made me feel they really cared about my pets and that I was just not another customer walking through their doors. Personal attention ranks high in my book which is why I highly recommend Alta Vista Animal Hospital to all my friends.
