Yuck. – I have to agree with the other negative reviews. The food was OK, but I have had better Mexican from cheap places. (I do have a great deal of experience with Mexican food) But even if you liked the food here, and found it good, the prices at Alma are not worth it. The service here, forget about it. Who needs Smith Street? – B61 renders Smith Street totally useless. Friendly and talented bartenders whip up whatever you need from this well-stocked bar. Many beers on tap and great margaritas. Gets a bit crowded on weekends due to spillover from Alma, but once the dinner crowd dies down there's no place I'd rahter be in the neighborhood.
Microwaved Mexican ?? – New to Brooklyn, I have had both the best and worst dining experience of the past year in the space of a month. This place was THE WORST. How is this place still open? Horrible service + Bad Food= Worst dinning experience ever – That last reviewer could not be more correct about this place. We went their for my friend's Birthday thinking it was a good spot, what a dissapointment. Total Waste of Time and Money! – The worst dining experience I've had in years. Even the gorgeous view of lower manhattan could not make up for the bad service, bland entrees, and wanna-be margheritas. We waited about 30 mins for our food and the waiter did not even apologize for the long wait. The pork chop was giant slab of unseasoned fat, the crawfish soup tasted like cheap tomato soup with old crawfish and the meat stuffed pepper had no taste at all. Sadly Surprised – I'd heard raves about Alma for years, so I was decidedly unprepared for mediocre upscale (and overpriced) Mexican. It's not a difficult cuisine to do well, just don't be so fussy and pretentious . . . Great food, TERRIBLE SERVICE – This place drives me insane, because the food is FANTASTIC, but the service is the worst in Brooklyn.
Amazing view/worth the wait – Rooftop view of city is amazing. Food is always good quality. Menu changes insure "us" regulars won't get bored. Margaritas are delicious!! Keep up the good work. Oh, and as for the wait.....there's a reason people wait so long for a seat :)
