i’ve been trying to reach out to him to get a certificate of renters insurance and I have not heard back from him in over 24 hours. Do not recommend.

If you are a student at Iowa State University don't go with this agent for your insurance. I have tried for months to cancel my plan now that I no longer live in the area, and I still get billed every month. I have left multiple voice mails and haven't heard back from them. I have gone to my local alstate agency and they first have to contact the original agen and they haven't heard back from them. So to all of the graduate students and undergraduate, don't use him as your agent, it will save you money later on.
We've had Allstate homeowners insurance for 7 years, and this year was the first time we needed to file a claim. (Our roof and gutters were damaged after 20-minutes of continuous 1.5 inch hail.) It was extremely frustrating dealing with Allstate's claims department, requiring much back-and-forth phone calls (rarely answering or returning messages).
