Took my 1187 in for warranty work, they called next day to say it was ready for pickup. great service and friendly staff. Will return next time I need work done.
This shop does good work. They charge fairly for it but get the job done right the first time, every time.
I took my daughters Remington 700 rifle in for warranty work and was pleased to receive polite and quick customer service. They called two days later to report the work completed - pick up was equally pleasant. I am puzzled by the negative reviews and perhaps some staffing has changed - great place for gunsmithing!
Excellent service, friendly people, and they fixed my rifle quickly and professionally. In fact, I did not ask if it was under warranty, they did it on their own and repaired it for free. I will definitely recommend them to others.

I have a Remington Model 700 that I sent to have a factory defect repaired. I went on line and found that Allison & Carey Gunworks was the factory repair shop. I sent the gun to Allison & Carey for the repair. Friday, April 27, 2012, an older person from Allison & Carey contacted my number and stated that the gun was out of the Remington warantee period and that the bolt locking lug problem would have to be checked out by a test. He was told that the person who answered my phone knew of the gun and not to do anything until t... read more
worst gunsmith around – I had a rifle built to my specs off of a weatherby mark 5 action. I paid for a new douglas 28" barrel ($750), stock ($450), floorplate ($150) and trigger work. When i got the gun back it wouldnt even make a 100 yard group at all. I took it in and Jeff said he would shoot it himself and see. when i dropped it off i also ordered a leupold vx-3 cds model. The scope cost $575. Jeff called me a few weeks later and said it was done and that my rifle shot fine for him with factory ammo. I went to pick up my ... read more
Horrible service – This is the worst or the worst. A circus chimp could do a better job! Took my gun in for repair. The resident AH couldn't fix it. Avoid this place. Can't believe they are still in business.
Not Happy – I brought my Remington Spartan SPR 453 to A&C to have the left extractor replaced. I was told rather abruptly that they don't work on that gun. Funny, it says Remington on the side, and they are a Remington service cetner. And an extractor is an easy repair. Heck, I can buy the parts online. They offered zero help in locating someone actually willing to take my money. I also had another gun requiring service, but after the way I was treated, I would rather melt it for scrap than have A&C do the work.
Allison & Carey Gunworks has a 4.2 star rating with 141 reviews.
