Best Italian Food in NYC – from Fettuccine Alfredo to Wine Menu to Service - this is the best Italian Restaurant I've been to in NYC. Right in the heart of Rockefeller Center, Alfredo's has it all. This is a must if visiting New York and should be visitied frequently if you live here. The bar is also a great place to hang out and meet friends. I can't say enough - the food was great and the service was excellent and friendly. I'll definitely be back.
A great experience – Great food and service. The decor is romantic and interesting. Try not to fill up on the appetizers though. It's easy to do. Desserts are fantastic as well.
Buon Appetito! My Favorite Restaurant. – I love this restaurant! The decor is gorgeous, the ambience is cozy, and the food is authentic. The gorgonzola with pear pizza is amazing. What creativity! The calamari with fried apples is a must. The Fettuccine Alfredo may not be what you're used to but this is the way it should be made, people! It melts in your mouth...Alfredo would be proud. The ravioli is so tasty and the grilled entrees are delicious. Save room for dessert and make sure you order different ones to share. It's so... read more
Great location, good food – Excellent ambiance and decor. Great wait staff and excellent cosmopolitans. Love the Tuna and the bread and toppings at the begining of the meal.
A little bit of Rome, a little bit of New York and a claim on the original recipe for fettucine Alfredo. – In Short Alfredo feels stuck somewhere between the worlds of the red-and-white checkered tablecloth Italian joint and business-meal restaurant. Visual adornments range from the campy to sentimental. Al Hirschfeld's caricatures feel right at home on the walls: Pavarotti sings, Sophia Loren preens and Romans frolic. The restaurant's proprietors claim to be the heirs to the original recipe for fettuccine Alfredo, but if yo... read more
Woeful Easter Dinner – We decided to try Alfredo's after many years when it was fromerly in the Citicorp Building. We used to enjoy their fabulous Fettucine Alfredo, deep fried zucchinni and great salads. Alas, those days are gone. We were greeted by a surly Hostess who would not seat us in the back at the tables that had table cloths. We had to settle for a table near the bar. The decor has changed considerably from the old loacation. It appears to be an ecclectic combination of semi-fine dining and bistro mix. Our bread ar... read more
Terrible Italian food! – Overpriced and absolutely awful Italian food! Had the pasta with mushrooms and beef - had no flavor. It was supposed to come with a cream sauce, but it was very dry and overcooked. You're better off at Olive Garden.
Sono buoni – It took me almost a year of eating at Alfredo of Rome to realize that its Rome, Italy location was the originator of the classic butter-and-cheese dish Fettuccine Alfredo (no kidding). While most of our party ordered the fettuccine, some of us opted to sample the oddly named "Italian Sushi" platter. We were pleasantly surprised to find our platter containing an assortment of the most flavorful ingredients mixed-and-matched and shaped into sushi-like hors d'oeuvres: Salmone (smoked salmon and buffalo mozzarella r... read more
what a joke – I dined with my date at Alfredo of Rome over the weekend and what a let down. I have frequented this restaurant before and have had a nice time but the last few visits have gotten worse each time. First of all the waiters have no knowledge of the food, wine and cocktails. When my date asked about their spiced red apple martini the waiter said they needed to ask the bartender how it was made and did'nt comeback for another ten minutes and when he did he just said it was vodka and apple juice. When we asked what ... read more
