BEWARE! This place used to be excellent. That is no longer the case. I'd really recommend NOT going to their special events. Both Mother's Day and Easter were disasters. Our last three visits were so horrible. If you enjoying paying too much for ok food and a blah dining experience then this is the place for you. I'd have left only one star, but the facility is gorgeous.

I took my wife here for a date last night. It was our first trip there. Appetizer was subpar (fried risotto balls), salad was fine. I wanted a steak, but after reading the description for the mushroom gruyere burger, I had to get it. It was the most bland burger I have ever tasted. There is no possibility any salt or pepper touched this burger. The taste of the iceberg lettuce overpowered the meat. I told the waiter. He apologized and said he'd get me some more water. What?! I have always had a fantastic experience at Alex's. Everything on the menu is delicious and presented beautifully. The staff is professional, but friendly. The decor is modern and rich. The views of the river and lake are breathtaking. Everyone should experience Alex's again and again.
Bar service was great. Food was good. Taters and gravy the best.
