Awful. My friends and I went to Alba and were treated with blatant disrespect. I would like to point out that we are all 22, of the legal age to drink. The man who was checking IDs at the door (I assume it was the owner) stared at mine for about two minutes before scoffing and mocking my accent. When we got to the bar, the bartender asked for our IDs again. We gladly handed them over. AWFUL The new Alba's is horrible! It is extremely loud and the food is way over priced. We went out to dinner there on a Saturday night. When we walked in, we told the hostess we would like a table, but wanted to have a drink at the bar first. She said that was not a problem and to let her know when we were ready to sit down. Fine night out I took my wife and adult son out to Alba last night. I guess that it has just re-opened at a new location across the street. Both my son and wife had the clam chowder which they said was excellent. Although this restaurant has some nice dishes at reasonable prices, my son decided that he was in the mood for a cheesburger. Our dinner out On Tuesday at 6:30 we arrived and were seated and ordered. Our wine, which was very good, arrived soon. At 7:25 we still hadn't gotten our food so we asked the waitress where our dinner was. She went to check and found that the order had never been placed. Took my mother to Alba for her Birthday on 9/1/08. Actaully was a quiet night at the place. They have valet if you want it. Inside is upscale. Polo shirt at the least. The tables were nice. Full set of dinnerware as well as separate silverware for apps/salad. As soon as we said were going right to dinner the extra silver was removed. sfenn I read the first review and have to say that I have always found the owner very friendly and accomodating. My husband and I really enjoy the food there and the service as well. It is a little pricey for just a "quick meal" , but if you want a great meal that has wonderful spices and wonderful tastes, it's great, in my opinion.
PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!!! The owner of this restaurant is horribly rude! I cannot believe he treated me and my family with such disrespect when we were there for a special occasion! He treated us so poorly! I was completely disappointed and in awe at how horribly he treated us and the kind of language he was using when speaking to us!
owner is horrific!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT eat at this restaurant! The owner is completely disrepectful and treats his customers horribly! I cannot beleive that anyone would run thier business this way and treat me and my family like that while we were there. If I were you, I would not give your money to him! Mediocre Food For the price, we expected much better food. The calamari was exceptionally bland. I ordered sea bass with lobster over a veal cake. The ingredients sounded tasty but the meal was again very bland. My wife order crab cakes over artichokes and capers and it was very good. The setting was also very noisy. We spent about $60 for the two of us including wine but no desert. We will definitely never return since we know of other restaurants that have better food, a better atmosphere, and cheaper entrees.
