Dr. Blackburn was a very good surgeon and he makes you feel comfortable through in depth explanation and coaching. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs Orthopedic surgery.

Dr Blackburn performed carpal tunnel surgery on me using local anesthesia only. He spent ample time during the consult reviewing my diagnosis and EMG results. He answered all of my questions and was very thorough regarding my recovery and subsequent surgery need for my other hand. He was very calm in preop and again, explained the surgery and my expected outcome. He has a great sense of humor and kept me informed during the surgery, as I was awake, and laughing. He did a great job! Thanks!

I could not have asked for a better doctor than Dr. Blackburn. When I broke my wrist he was patient and courteous with all my questions. He took the time to answer all of them. More importantly, he actually cared about my outcome. I will only go to him for any future orthopedic needs.
I am fortunate to have had Dr. Alan Blackburn as my surgeon to repair my broken arm. It was a complex fracture requiring permanent plates and pins. Throughout my recovery and follow-up appointments Dr. Blackburn explained the treatment plan and answered my questions. My fracture is completely healed. I am pain free and my range of motion is exceptional. The scar is barely noticeable. Dr. Blackburn’s expertise restored the use of my arm. Priceless!
I would highly recommend Dr. Alan Blackburn. My elderly father fell and broke his ankle in two places. Dr. Blackburn performed the surgery at Martin Memorial Hospital in Stuart. Dr. Blackburn treats his patients with respect, listens to their questions, and answers with easily understood advice and information. He is thorough, professional and cares about his patients. My fathers ankle healed perfectly. Thanks to Dr Blackburn and his staff.
Dr. Blackburn is wonderful. He is very pleasant and personable. My 6 year old broke his wrist and from the first to the last visit he was patient and informative. He took great care of us!
Dr. Blackburn specializes in orthopedics from hands to shoulder. While being very professional, is easy to speak to, listens carefully, and very clearly explains the nature of your orthopedic problem along with the various approaches (with pros & cons) to its treatment. Dr. Blackburn has the impressive ability to knowledgeably respond to questions we had on alternate treatment approaches. His background in various orthopedic research areas was obvious. He is a very competent professional.
