I have been living with a pain running down my leg, that prevented me from activities to have a quality of life with family and friends. Meeting Dr Akin and his nurse Heather was a pleasure. They both showed true concern for my problem and a course of treatments to help my pain. Dr Akin took the time to explain my problem, what was causing the problem and gave me the choices for treatment in language that I could understand. I can not thank Dr Akin and Heather enough. I highly recommend them.
Dr. Akin gave me back my father. Dad has NPH and Dr. Akin placed a shunt in Dad's brain. Now my Dad is doing great. We believe Dr. Akin saved his life.

Dr. Akin performed my back surgery for a herniated disc in October of this year. The care his office and staff gave was excellent. He made it so easy to get in touch with his nurse Heather in case I had any questions or needed anything after my surgery. He followed up with me 2 weeks after my surgery and explained everything he did in great detail. Prior to the surgery, he pulled up my MRI in the exam room and showed me the herniated disc and explained why it was causing pain. Great doctor!!

After suffering many years with back pain and trying several methods of treatment, I decided to see a neurosurgeon. Dr. Akin came highly recommended, and I have been very pleased! I decided to have a Lumbar Laminectomy and was able to have the surgery scheduled quickly. The surgery was 100% successful, and I am now pain free. Dr. Akin was very knowledgeable and had a great bedside manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone suffering from chronic back pain!!

Dr. Akin is an amazing surgeon that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a neurosurgeon. He has delightful bedside manner, is very thorough with his evaluations, is easy to understand and work with. He included me in the decision making process for both testing and treatment options. He's performed multiple surgeries for me since I became his patient. I trust his judgements wholeheartedly. He truly cares for his patients and takes the time to get them well.
