Very disappointed in our dinning experience. I wish I'd have read some of these reviews before going. The only positive I have is that the interior was aesthetically pleasing. Completely downhill from there. We ordered two margaritas, on the rocks, with two shots of Grand Marnier. It took at least 5 - 7 minutes to get our drinks and the shots of Grand Marnier were only a 1/2 oz. each. We had to request a full one oz. shot, and wait another 5 minutes for it to transpire. The food was nothing spectacular, if not overpriced. At... read more

Last night, my boyfriend and I went to dinner at Ajo Al's Mexican Cafe. The reason was because we had it on Sunday when his brother came in from TX for a visit and the food and service were great. Howver, last night was llike the complete opposite. The waiter kept forgetting things, he never once came to refil our glasses, he never asked how we liked our food or if we wanted anything else. To top it off, the Carne Asada Burro was tasteless. I mean tortilla, cheese and chunks of unseasoned meat. It was awful. The arroz con pol... read more

Great mexican food and great service – This was our 1st trip to Phoenix and just happened to find this restauant. The food was GREAT! There were four in our party and we were all tasting each others dishes! The veggie salads were so flavorful and different! We were seated as soon as we walked in the door by very friendly staff and the wait staff was always checking to see what we needed. My next trip back to Phoenix will include dining here again! If you are looking for some good, spicey, veggie mexican food, this is the pla... read more

A variety of American standards, such as burgers and fries, are mixed in with a lengthy Mexican menu and stiff margaritas. – In Short There's definitely room for creativity--or not. Patrons can stick with familiar family favorites, such as cheeseburgers and deep fried chicken strips, or they can build their own burrito and brave the spicy red salsa. Now that the NFL's Arizona Cardinals have moved to Glendale, this place makes a great option for pregame or postgame drinks and more than enough menu options to satisfy varied pa... read more

okay, but not all that – For a city like Phoenix, I expected the Mexican food to be better. Ajo Al's was average for my taste. It just wasn't spicy enough. Best Mexican food in the city? I don't think so. Perhaps Phoenicians are more geared toward bland Mexican food. Be warned: the dessert chimi had way too much coconut in it. The red salsa was good if runny.

Great Mexican Food!! – I eat out OFTEN in the Valley. This is one of the tastiest places I've eaten Mexican food at. It was recommended by a friend. Not sure what some reviewers are talking about. The place is always busy *and not just in the winter time with snow birds* so I guess most Phoenicians like nasty mex food? NO!! The menu is VERY extensive and the food comes in pretty large portions. I got the chicken Mexican pizza, and I dont really eat Mexican pizza's but this one was unique with a white sauce and it was kind of... read more
