My husband has been a patient of Dr. Athar’s for 3 years and we feel blessed that he is one of David’s doctors. Dr. Athar checks all the boxes for an exceptional doctor: knowledgeable, extremely caring, patient, and an excellent communicator.
Every visit is planned and executed with efficiency. This is so important when patients are not feeling well. Visits with both Dr. Athar and Brooke have been exceptionally informative. I have never felt rushed through a visit. They engage me when decisions need to made by making sure I understand the issue, options and impact on my treatment plan. Favorite Dr I have ever had. Takes time to listen and goes over things better than any. Thoroughly trust him for cancer care. Also referred my husband to him.
Dr. Athar explains things in an understandable way. He is professional, kind, and thorough. He takes the time to answer questions.
Dr. Athar's compassion and caring attitude helped me though the most difficult time of my life. He was honest about treatments and ready and willing to help when we needed it. He knew what to do to treat my husband's condition and worked with us when he had to have changes made. I will always be grateful to Dr. Anthar and his staff for their kindness.

Dr. Athar has been the most kind, caring, concerned, and informative doctor and counselor through my whole experience with Testicular Seminoma. Thanks to Dr. Athar and others at Texas Oncology, I have celebrated my 4th year cancer free. The staff and facilities are first rate, the level of care is exceptional.
Dr. Athar has been my oncologist since I was diagnosed with aggressive cancer in 2016. He is both compassionate and passionate about answering the many questions upon initial diagnosis and offering advice as care progresses. He takes time to listen and give input to concerns. He has been a great physician to have on my "team" and I am grateful for his care. I am also grateful that he was able to"release" me last month as my cancer has not returned after chemo and surgery.
