This place is horrible, this use to be such a good hospital, what happened? The entrance stinks it smells like garbage because of the landscaping there were dead rodents by the entry way doors, what a really bad first impression. But then the staff is uncooperative and unconcerned about the families of the patients. Smells like a dump, dead rat at the main entrance. No communication between Dr’s or nurses. Absolutely would not ever go there back there!
Please don’t go here if you want good care for your loved one. Go to West Penn instead. I got to AGH every morning for visiting hours hoping to talk to a doctor, never saw one the whole 3 days. My mom was so sick, after requesting for a doctor to come talk to me the nurse said a physician assistant would come talk to me. I heard this for 2 days in a row and the PA NEVER came to talk to me about my concerns with my moms health. I usually don’t do this but, my son had a liver transplant last year. The liver is doing great but while he was there we weren’t sure if we were going home with him again. Nursing staff is absolutely terrible. They wouldn’t listen when we would tell them he’s not eating. Lost so much weight they then had to put a feeding tube in. He was hallucinating terribly and they said he was fine. I missed 2 days the whole 3 months he was there. It’s impossible to speak to anyone who actually works in the hospital billing department. When you want to speak with someone, you’re connected to an overseas call center where there’s no connection to the actual Pittsburgh community. I’ve been trying for six weeks to speak personally with someone that actually works in the hospital about a billing situation. So much for compassionate care.
