They only accept cash which is a red flag and they over charge for service . I wonder if all of the braiders are certified to even be charging these high prices and the space doesn’t accommodate the consumers .

The African Braiding Center located on Georgia Avenue customer service is horrible. First, the cost of my hair was $160 for 6 stitch braids, which is very over priced. I had to take them out after one week because they were way too tight and hurt very bad! I messaged their Instagram page and they told me I could get them redone which was cool, but when I get to the shop it was a completely different story... This place is dirty, they have roaches and the customer service at the Georgia Avenue location is awful. I arrived at 4pm and requested braids and showed the picture for the style I was requesting. As the braider began she asked if the size of the braid was fine, I asked if she could braid them slightly smaller. She abruptly stops doing my hair and tells me to come tomorrow. The other braiders then asked me to leave because they are closing, and although I was only one of two customers, no one was able to braid my hair. They... read more
