Bad entrees – Portions are small and the mole with roast pork WAS rubbery as someone else mentioned and the sauce was SO bland!!! The wait staff seemed preoccuppied and they didn't check in with us as often as they should have - almost rude. I'm not running back there, but too bad cause the decor is way above average.

From guacamole prepared at the table to more than 90 different tequilas, this upscale Mexican eatery has much to offer. – The Scene Adobo's ambience is warm; the crowd is loud, young and professional. The exposed-brick walls are accented by sun-drenched Southwestern colors, bright artwork and two beautiful vintage bars. Conveniently located adjacent to Piper's Alley, Adobo is ideal for dining before heading to Second City or an art flick. The Food Hits on the regional Mexican menu include succulent and fiery grilled baby oct... read more

Go for the Guac, Stay for the Drinks! – Everything tastes good at Adobo Grill. You get a taste of some authentic Mexican flavors for a reasonable price. The best thing there is the guacamole, made fresh to order and you determine how spicey you want it. Also go for the margaritas which are amazing! Not very many vegetarian options but still worth it for some great tastes.

Take a Look Around! – That's what I said to my girlfriend as we got up to leave Adobo Grill last Saturday night. We had heard mixed reviews about this popular mexican spot on Wells, and were eager to see for ourselves. Adobo is a very nice looking establishment as it captures the "Authentic Mexican" theme well. Our meal started off on a high note, the famous tableside Guacamole is quite tasty, and the margaritas are very good, however the entrees leave much to be desired, especially since they are close to 20 dollars a plate... read more

Great Guacamole, Average Food – Go to Adobo for the margaritas and definately the guacamole but leave before the entrees. We found entrees we ordered to be lacking in flavor, uninteresting and small. The empinadas were covered in a mole sauce that might as well been gravy, my dining partner had a pork dish that he described as "rubbery" and was just a few thin pieces of pork and a spoonful of beans. We were seated in a crowded room right by a door that waiters were continulously using. Overall, the restaurant started out fan... read more

This is the one Chicago! – As a Chef and restaurant owner, food is the best part of my travels. The food here is on the mark. Authentic, flavorful and unique. The margaritas shine! I don't know who thinks that this is expensive. The margs, tequila and certainly the food are very reasonably priced. Try Frontera or Chilpancingo if you want expensive. The staff is well informed and gracious. As someone who lives and breathes Mexican everyday, my hats off to these guys.

Gourmet Mexican – Being from San Antonio, I am a margarita and mexican food connoisseur. This is probably my second favorite place to go for margaritas in Chicago. Ceasars is the first. (Ceasars is the better value. Just one there and you'll be loopy.) Adobo has incredible tasting margaritas for $7, but you'll probably need 2. Too, Adobo uses high quality tequila in their ritas. The food here is also better than average, with more than the typical enchiladas and fajitas on the menu. Atmosphere is good too. You won't be disap... read more

It's Well Overpriced – Adobo Grill, as well as many restuarants in the Chicago area, is the "place to be seen" in the neighborhood. It is well overpriced, the margaritas are just okay. The best thing about the place is the guacamole. Again, it's okay for a neighborhood hangout - but there's much ado about nothing!
