A great vet is retiring Dr. Visco has been our vet for 1 cat and 2 dogs and he deserves the Best of Petaluma award he has won from the voters/readers of the Argus Courier. I don't understand what 2 of the prima donnas were talking about -- the place is NOT filthy. It is small (it was a cottage at one time) and it is visited by many animals every day. Use Caution... Two things I was willing to overlook was the dilapidated house he calls his practice and the 15 minutes he ignored me when I arrived on my first visit while he flipped through papers at his desk. What I cannot overlook is a simplistic diagnosis for a severe problem. I brought in my Lab because she was lethargic, no appetite, regurgitating and salivating. $600.00 later she was prescribed Pepcid AC. I informed Adobe on Feb.20th that my cat had had a heart attack, and I held him while he was put to sleep. I am still getting reminders from them that San is due for a visit. I have asked them 3 times to remove him from their patient list. Every reminder is a stab to my heart, and I go through that event over and over.
RecommendedThe care and love they offer to pets and families is amazing! And their "new" location (still feels new to me, haha) is state-of-the-art.

AAH is the best place I’ve taken my pets. Clean, kind, expert, and they listen and give compassion. In only 2 years they’ve helped my pup, put up my friends cats for a day during evacuation (they don’t offer that service) and handled me with kid gloves when I brought in my injured dog.
Great docs, great staff. Very professional and loving. They focus on the entire animal and treat your pet as if it were their own.
We are new to Petaluma and brought our Bernese Mountain dog in when he developed a hot spot. The reception staff were very warm and friendly, putting us in an examination room as soon as we arrived. They had a sign with the names of all the pets scheduled to come in that day, Fin was on it, and it made us feel very welcomed. Chachi had his first visit here yesterday and he was treated like a King...of course they were very generous with the treats which is a great motivator for my fella. We had a great visit and what an amazing staff. EVERYONE was very kind and very knowledgeable.
