Dr. Bakker made me feel comfortable from the start. He truly wants the best for his patient and takes the time to explain why and what he is recommending for you to move forward with. His appointments are quick but informing and straight to the point. He will answer ANY question you might have in full detail. I was terrified to have surgery along with getting a plate and screws on my wrist after fracturing it in 3 places. Once he explained the quick recovery time and the process of the surgery along with aftercare I was more... read more

Dr. Smith & his staff were very polite & punctual. He however, seemed more interested in getting to his next patient rather than finishing with me. It seemed that after he learned of my previous surgery on this same problem area some 25 years ago he didn't want to deal with it. I was somewhat surprised by the no action plan & that I just continue living with the pain, muscle loss & weakness. Not sure why I had to spend a half hour filling out 4 online forms detailing everything when it seemed clear to me that they were not v... read more

Dr. Holthusen was an answer to our prayers for our 11 year old daughter. She dealt with more pain than any child should have to because of an extra bone in each foot, and then suffered too many indignities as a middle-schooler with all of the non-surgical attempts made by a pediatric orthopedist. Dr Holthusen took one conclusive, confident look at her relatively uncomplicated situation, and helped us quickly understand everything we needed to know to make the surgery decision that would restore our daughter's feet to the ful... read more

I believe I received the best care possible. Every person I met in the process before, during, and after surgery seemed to be sincerely interested and were knowledgeable about their specific part of the surgey process. They were like clones of Dr. Bakker giving all kinds information about what they were doing and what to expect in the future. They had a protocol book to explain what they were doing as well as telling me exactly what to expect in the very near future. Attitude, personality, expertise, empathy and personality ... read more

Great surgeon and staff! Everything went like clockwork. Complete distal bicep rupture was repaired. I was off prescription meds in three days. Six weeks later and I have full range of motion and starting to lift weights. If you need arm work this is the man!

For a year I had burning pain at the base of my thumb. A month ago I had thumb arthroplasty surgery. Today i have no pain and functional use of my hand. The surgery was a breeze. Dr. Gesensway answered all of my questions, in a kind gentle manner. His team was outstanding. Occupational Therapists, Lori and Julie taught me strengthening exercises that dramatically improved my hand strength and agility. Dr. GESENSWAY and his outstanding team improved my life for which I am very grateful.

Can’t believe this guy is still in practice. I personally found him, like his other former patients ,rude ,arrogant and Presumptuous. Also found his sidekick “Barb” perfect for him. They feed each other’s egos. He will not be operating on my back. I wouldn’t let him cut my dogs TOENAILS,!!!!!!!!

Business response:

Dr Smith and his staff were excellent to deal with! Dr Smith is a great listener, and allows you to ask any questions you need to. I was terrified of having surgery on my neck, and he was so calm and understanding. His nurse Anne is amazing! On top of everything!! She follows through on every detail, and makes the whole process smooth. Both of them together, are a great team, and I am so happy with my surgery and my care. I would highly recommend Dr Michael Smith!
