I have tried all day emailing and chatting but to no avail. I was charged $89.95, called my bank to find out what this charge was for and apparently the bank rep heard of it before. SCAM! This company violated me by stealing my information from Reserve America. So misleading how you "sign" customers up. I never received an email that I was even signed up and therefore how would i know that I was in a trial period. Beyond deceitful and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I just noticed this charge on my credit card. Very deceitful practice. You should be ashamed of yourself for scamming myself and countless others! I have reported you to my credit card company. I expect my money to be refunded as well!

Same as so many reviews, unauthorized charge of 89.95 to my Credit Card. Called their number and there is a message nobody available due to Covid19. I had to use Active to sign up for a race, well going forward I will never do a race that involves Active and their deceptive practices.

I have the same issue as everyone listed below. I registered my son for a summer camp and 30 days later I am automatically charged $89.95. I looked through my junk mail and found an email with the reciept and took my hours to figure out what this company is. It's such a shame they are prying on people registering for camps and events and saying they can "opt in or out" to automatic charges for a service they do not want or even know what it is. It's is TERRIBLE business practice. I have asked the place that used you as their... read more

Same experiences as others. This company is clearly tricking people into memberships that they do not want. I expect my money to be refunded. This is not a respectable way to conduct business.

Business response:

We apologize for the inconvenience. We want to assure you that the membership is an opt in at the end of a registration. It is not our intention for you to have an unwanted membership. We have verified that your membership was cancelled and refunded on 6/18/2020. Please let us know if you have any further questions by emailing support@active.com. Active is and has been an ongoing scam in the racing and outdoor communities for over a decade (apparently they are into kids summer camps too, shameful). They will tell you (and will probably respond to this review the same way) satin that their membership is "opt-in"; however, that is a false claim. When you are registering for your event, campground, kids summer camp, the registration continues seamlessly to their signup page where you check another box and click accept, just like you did on the previous two pages when yo... read more

Business response:

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you when registering for any events. The membership is on a pop-up option that appears after a registration where you need to re-enter information and elect to sign up for it. We have confirmed you don't have an active membership. Please let us know if you have any further questions by reaching back out to us at support@active.com. Thank you, ACTIVE Consumer Support www.ACTIVEnetwork.com

I reserved a camp spot through this company. Then COVID happened so I wanted to cancel. It was 62 days PRIOR to the cancellation cut off date. I wrote in 3 times. No answer. I called 5 times, no answer due to COVID. There is a number to text foe support, so I did that. It's now 49 days until the cancel cutoff. No answer. I get an answer 3 weeks later saying I have to go through the state for that. I call the state they are closed. I write and call reserveamerica several more times. No answer. After a month I'm told I missed ... read more

Business response:

We greatly apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, we only process the reservations for Reserve American as a third party. May we suggest that you work with Reserve America on the details of your cancellation/refund. Thank you, ACTIVE Consumer Support www.ACTIVEnetwork.com www.ACTIVE.com

Same as all the others.... THIS IS A SCAM! And clearly I'm not alone in thinking it's also not cool to make everyone think they're idiots for falling for this scam by telling them they missed a clear action to sign up. It is clear from EVERY review on them that they are scamming people into "signing up" to a membership unknowingly. We do NOT run marathons (or really anything active) so I had to search to figure out how I allegedly "signed up" and found it was associated with an art summer camp registration for my then 5 year... read more

Business response:

Hello *** we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. We would like to assure you that the membership is an opt-in only add to cart button, after clicking learn more on the membership offer near the end of the registration process. The messaging states if you want to save x amount of dollars. It is not our intention to force you into an unwanted membership. We investigated your account and do see that it has been deactivated. You will no longer be charged for our membership. Please let us know if you have any furthe... read more

I'm glad I saw this page, it's horrible that I'm going through the same issue that everyone wrote below, I signed up to go to watch a race last year but didnt know that I signed up to a yearly event. Now I just noticed that i got charged $89 this year and last year. This was never explained explicitly when I signed up and felt like it was hidden to me. I will be asking for a cancellation and refund for the past two years!

Business response:

We apologize for the inconvenience. We want to assure you that the membership is an opt in join button, that shows on a pop up after you have registered. It is not our intention for you to have an unwanted membership. Your membership and refundable charges will be issued today. If you need further assistance you are more than welcome to reach back out to us at support@active.com. Thank you, ACTIVE Consumer Support www.ACTIVEnetwork.com
